The first-generation owner of Da Fond Fishball moved with his family to northern Taiwan and settled in the harbor city of Keelung. To raise the family, the sole breadwinner of the Cheng Family took his 13-year-old son, who later would take over the family business, and started the business by selling handmade swordfish balls, thereby making a name for their business.
Years later, the second generation owner relocated to Sanshui Market in Wanhua District to carry on the family legacy of selling deep-fried swordfish balls. Using only freshly caught swordfish, Da Fond Fishball, now run by the third generation, offers tasty swordfish balls by following the time-honored recipes passed down from the grandfather, while creating innovative recipes.
