"Yannick Yangmingshang Store" is located in the alleyway next to the Yangde Boulevard, Yangming Mountain. The building is a historic site which used to be an US military dormitory in the 1950s. Through a fortuitous encounter with the Old House cultural initiative, President Wu turned the building into a village of American desserts. During the period of US Aid, US military dependents often made pies at home when they lived in Taiwan. This was how many pie and cookie recipes spread in Taiwan. Because of this, Yannick particularly uses the exclusive selling of pies and tarts to suit the style of Southern American houses, with the hopes of making dessert-inspired innovations while preserving the original culture.
