Description

Tamsui, being the window of Taiwan and the door of the world, is a place in Taiwan with highest density of cultural heritage. New Taipei City Tamsui Historical Museum is in charge of managing tangible and intangible cultural assets in the Tamsui district. These precious architectures and craftsmanship record Taiwan’s link with the world since the Great Voyage era, as well as bearing witness to Taiwan’s diverse history in politics, economy and culture. Taking a stroll in the Fort San Domingo-centered ancient building cluster, one can feel an exotic ambience permeating in the air. This is a must-visit attraction for Chinese tourists. Currently 9 tourist attractions managed by the Museum and open to the public include the Fort San Domingo, Tamsui Customs Officer's Residence (Little White House ), Hobe Port, the Tamsui Customs Wharf, Douglas Lapraik & Co, the former residence of Tamsui street head Tada Eikichi, Tamsui Plaza and Cheng Family Abode.
